About this course
English 30-1 is a skills course, so these units are organized around what you are asked to do rather than a list of set texts. Part B of the diploma is 70 reading questions on texts you have never seen, so the first four units are about reading anything closely — prose, poetry and visual texts. Part A is two written assignments, and the last two units are about those: the Personal Response to Texts and the Critical/Analytical Response.
Because you choose your own texts for the Critical/Analytical Response, nothing here depends on a particular novel or play.
