How do the respiratory and circulatory systems work together?
Body systems
Heart — circulatory, pumps blood around the body; Lungs — respiratory, take in oxygen, let out carbon dioxide; Stomach — digestive, churns food and breaks it down; Small intestine — digestive, absorbs nutrients into the blood; Blood vessels — circulatory, carry blood to every part; Trachea — respiratory, carries air to the lungs. Order: mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine. Together: the lungs put oxygen into the blood, and the heart and blood vessels carry it to every part of the body.
