About this course
Alberta's Math 10C has three strands: measurement, algebra and number, and relations and functions. Measurement becomes three units here because surface area and volume and right-triangle trigonometry each carry enough to stand alone, algebra and number becomes two, and relations and functions two. Together the seven cover every outcome.
10C is the combined course, which is where its name comes from: everyone takes it, and it is the last mathematics course the two senior streams share. Afterwards you choose Math 20-1, which leads to calculus, or Math 20-2, which does not. The factoring, the linear work and the function notation here all come back in Math 20-1 assumed rather than retaught.
