About this course
Alberta's Science 9 has five units, and they are used here exactly as they are: biological diversity; matter and chemical change; environmental chemistry; electrical principles and technologies; and space exploration.
The provincial achievement test weights them equally — eleven of its 55 questions each — and 60% of its questions test skills rather than recall: reading an experiment, judging whether a test was fair, interpreting data, weighing a decision. That is why so many questions here give you a situation to reason about instead of a fact to remember.
Science 10 picks two of these straight back up: the atoms and compounds of Unit B, and the energy and efficiency of Unit D.
