One good thing and one problem with wind power
Where energy comes from
Renewable: sunlight, wind, flowing water, heat from underground (geothermal), and wood if the forest is replanted. Non-renewable: natural gas, coal, oil. Most of Alberta's electricity comes from natural gas; Alberta stopped burning coal for electricity in 2024, and wind and solar are growing. Wind: no fuel and no smoke, but it stops when the wind does.
Wood is the one to argue about. It grows back, but only if trees are replanted and only slowly — renewable in principle, not in practice if a forest is cut faster than it grows.
