Draw every line of symmetry on each shape and write how many — one of them has none. Then finish each half-shape so the dashed line is its line of symmetry: every corner on the other side is the same distance from the line.

Square: 4; Rectangle: 2; Triangle: 3; Parallelogram: 0; Hexagon: 6; Trapezoid: 1. The rectangle's lines go through the middles of opposite sides, not the corners. The halves are finished by reflecting each corner across the dashed line: same distance, other side.
The rectangle's diagonals are the classic wrong answer, and the parallelogram is the surprise: it looks balanced but has no line of symmetry at all. Folding a paper cut-out shows both. A circle, not on the sheet, has endless lines — any line through the centre.
