Let's eat, Grandma! / It's time to go. / They're going to the lake. / The dog's bone was buried. The comma turns Grandma from the dinner into the person being told dinner is ready. It's means it is. Its means belonging to it, as in the dog wagged its tail. They're means they are; their means belonging to them; there means a place. One dog owns the bone, so the apostrophe goes before the s.
Grade 5's outcome says precise, and these are the errors that change the meaning rather than just look untidy. Reading the sentence aloud both ways is the quickest way to hear the difference.
