About this course
Social Studies 10-1 asks one big question — to what extent should we embrace globalization? — through four related issues: identity, the legacies of historical globalization, sustainable prosperity, and how a citizen should respond. All four are here, plus two supporting units that supply what the related issues assume: the history of how the world got connected, and the economic vocabulary every argument uses.
It is the first of three courses built the same way. Grade 11 asks the same kind of question about nationalism and Grade 12 about ideology, so the habit of defending a position on a continuum is worth building here.
