Who joined when
Ontario 1867; Quebec 1867; Nova Scotia 1867; New Brunswick 1867; Manitoba 1870; British Columbia 1871; Prince Edward Island 1873; Alberta 1905; Saskatchewan 1905; Newfoundland and Labrador 1949. Before 1905, Alberta was part of the North-West Territories, and before 1870 most of it was Rupert's Land, the Hudson's Bay Company's territory.
Alberta and Saskatchewan joined on the same day, September 1, 1905. Newfoundland and Labrador was the last, in 1949 — within living memory for some grandparents.
