Unit 3: Devices and language
Naming a technique is the easy half. This unit is about saying what it does to a reader, and why a writer chose it.
Unit 4
Unit 4: Reading poetry
Why a line breaks where it does, what a stanza is for, how sound carries meaning, and a method for a poem you have never seen.
Unit 5
Unit 5: The personal response
What the prompt is actually asking, how to choose a form you can control, and what a marker is looking for.
