Think it through

Healthy: trying out for the school basketball team, answering in class when you're not sure, trying a food you've never had. Unsafe: riding downhill without a helmet, sharing your password with a friend, jumping off a garage roof into a snowbank. The pond: by March, ice in Alberta is often thin and rotten even when it looks solid, so falling through is a real possibility. Family, friends and whoever tries a rescue would all be affected.

Alberta's overview for Grade 6 says it plainly: choices touch a lot of people. The “who else” question is the one children skip.
